From Simple Prayers, Day 300
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.
I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
O fear the Lord, you His saints,
For those who fear Him lack nothing. (Psalm 34:8–9)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
I will give thanks to the God of heaven, for His merciful love endures forever. (Psalm 136:26)
By the will of God, I have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands daily ministering and offering again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time for His enemies to be made a footstool for His feet. For by one offering, He has made perfect forever those who are being sanctified. (Hebrews 10:10–14)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may observe Your words. (Deuteronomy 29:29)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
I greatly rejoice in my salvation, though now for a little while, if necessary, I have been grieved by various trials, so that the proving of my faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, even though refined by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:6–7)
Who is going to harm me if I am eager to do good? But even if I should suffer for what is right, I am blessed, and I will not fear what they fear or be intimidated. (1 Peter 3:13–14)
Lord, I thank You for Your merciful love and for the perfect offering of Christ as a sacrifice for sins. I thank You for the things You have revealed in Your word, and I ask that I would persevere during trials and be willing to suffer for the sake of Christ.
