Daily Prayer: Day 301

From Simple Prayers, Day 301

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

I will sing of Your strength,
Yes, I will sing of Your mercy in the morning,
For You have been my stronghold,
My refuge in times of trouble.
To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises,
For God is my fortress, my loving God. (Psalm 59:16–17)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Your testimonies, which You have commanded, are righteous and trustworthy. Your righteousness is everlasting, and Your law is truth. (Psalm 119:138, 142)

Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as the children of Israel have, and lived? Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by miraculous signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord God did for Israel in Egypt before their very eyes? The Israelites were shown these things so that they might know that the Lord, He is God; there is no other besides Him. Out of heaven He made the children of Israel hear His voice to discipline them. On earth He showed them His great fire, and they heard His words out of the midst of the fire. Because He loved their fathers, He chose their descendants after them, and He brought them out of Egypt by His presence and His great power; He drove out from before the Israelites nations greater and mightier than they, to bring them in and to give them their land as an inheritance. (Deuteronomy 4:33–38)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Thus says the Lord, my Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will commit my works to the Lord, and my plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:3)

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29)

Lord, I thank You for the trustworthiness of Your words and for Your great and awesome deeds. I thank You for leading me in the way I should go, and I ask that I would commit my works to You and walk in Your ways.
