Daily Prayer: Day 317

From Simple Prayers, Day 317

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

What is man that You should magnify him,
That you should set Your heart on him,
That You examine him every morning
And test him every moment? (Job 7:17–18)

I will cleanse them from all their iniquity they have committed against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities which they have committed against Me, and by which they have transgressed against Me. (Jeremiah 33:8)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness. It is not by strength that one prevails; those who contend with the Lord will be shattered. He will thunder against them from heaven; the Lord will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to His king and exalt the horn of His anointed. (1 Samuel 2:9–10)

Just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom He wishes. (John 5:21)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I lift up my eyes to You, to You who dwell in heaven. As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so my eyes look to the Lord my God, until He shows me His mercy. (Psalm 123:1–2)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not love with words or tongue, but in deed and in truth. By this I will know that I am of the truth and will assure my heart before Him; for if my heart condemns me, God is greater than my heart, and knows all things. If my heart does not condemn me, I have confidence before God and receive from Him whatever I ask, because I keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. (1 John 3:18–22)

I want everything I do to be done in love. (1 Corinthians 16:14)

Lord, I thank You for protecting Your saints and for giving them life through Your Son. I thank You that I can depend upon You for all my needs, and I ask that my love would produce the fruit of others-centered actions.
