From Simple Prayers, Day 320
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.
You have shown me what is good;
And what does the Lord require of me
But to act justly and to love mercy
And to walk humbly with my God? (Micah 6:8)
Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
The Lord God is the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8)
Jesus said, “My Father loves Me because I lay down My life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.” (John 10:17–18)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. (Proverbs 30:5)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
Blessed is the man who listens to wisdom, watching daily at her gates, waiting at her doorposts. For whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. But he who sins against her injures his own soul; all who hate her love death. (Proverbs 8:34–36)
I will receive the words of wisdom and treasure her commands within me, turning my ear to wisdom and applying my heart to understanding. If I cry for discernment and lift up my voice for understanding, if I seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, then I will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:1–5)
Lord, I thank You that You are the Alpha and the Omega and that Jesus received all authority over life and death from You. I thank You for Your constant protection, and I ask that I would treasure wisdom and apply my heart to understanding.
