From Simple Prayers, Day 328
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.
My mouth is filled with Your praise,
And with Your glory all day long. (Psalm 71:8)
How lovely are Your dwellings,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs and even faints for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. (Psalm 84:1–2)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens! (Psalm 8:1)
The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness, since what may be known about God is manifest in them, because God has manifested it to them. (Romans 1:18–19)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
Having begun in the Spirit, I will not seek to be perfected by the flesh. (Galatians 3:3)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
A man’s pride brings him low, but the humble of spirit will gain honor. (Proverbs 29:23)
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
Lord, I thank You for the glory of the heavens and for manifesting Yourself in this way to all people. I thank You for Your Holy Spirit who empowers me, and I ask that You would protect me from a haughty spirit.
