From Simple Prayers, Day 329
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.
I was washed, I was sanctified, I was justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11)
Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore let us be steadfast, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:57–58)
Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things. O God, who is like You? (Psalm 71:19)
We know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be silenced, and the whole world held accountable to God; because no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. (Romans 3:19–20)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
I can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
I will love my enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then my reward will be great, and I will be a child of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and evil. I will be merciful just as my Father is merciful. (Luke 6:35–36)
I will bear with others and forgive whatever complaints I have against them; I will forgive just as the Lord forgave me. (Colossians 3:13)
Lord, I thank You for Your unbounded righteousness and for Your law that reveals Your utter perfection. I thank You that I can put all my confidence in You, and I ask that I would be merciful and forgiving to others.
