Daily Prayer: Day 334

From Simple Prayers, Day 334

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;
Be their shepherd and carry them forever. (Psalm 28:9)

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you;
The Lord turn His face toward you
And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24–26)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world. (John 11:27)

Surely the Lord’s hand is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. But our iniquities have separated us from our God; our sins have hidden His face from us, so that He will not hear. Yet the Lord saw that there was no one to intervene; so His own arm worked salvation for Him, and His righteousness sustained Him. He put on righteousness as His breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped Himself in zeal as a cloak. From the west, men will fear the name of the Lord, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere His glory. For He will come like a flood that the breath of the Lord drives along. (Isaiah 59:1–2, 16–19)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I want to remove the places of idolatry from my life, and like Asa, I want my heart to be fully committed to God all my days. (2 Chronicles 15:17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends. (Proverbs 17:9)

I will put away all bitterness and anger and wrath and shouting and slander, along with all malice. And I will be kind and compassionate to others, forgiving them just as God in Christ also forgave me. (Ephesians 4:31–32)

Lord, I thank You that You sent Your Son into the world and that He purchased our salvation. I pray that I would be fully committed to You all my days, and I ask that I would put away slander, wrath, and abusive speech and practice kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.
