Daily Prayer: Day 339

From Simple Prayers, Day 339

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:8–9)

Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:10–12)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Lord, You have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. You turn men back into dust, and say, “Return, O children of men.” For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by or like a watch in the night. (Psalm 90:1–4)

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 12:2–3)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

As a servant of Christ and a steward of His possessions, it is required that I be found faithful. (1 Corinthians 4:1–2)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Whoever is wise will consider the lovingkindness of the Lord. (Psalm 107:43)

Lord, I thank You that You are everlasting and that You promise to raise me from the dead so that I can live with You forever. I pray that I will be a faithful steward of Your possessions, and I ask that I would walk in wisdom by doing the right thing at the right time in the right way.
