From Simple Prayers, Day 341
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.
Far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for others. (1 Samuel 12:23)
Oh, that they would always have such a heart to fear Me and keep all My commandments, so that it might be well with them and with their children forever! (Deuteronomy 5:29)
Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
All a man’s ways are right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts. (Proverbs 21:2)
Nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be known and come out into the open. (Luke 8:17)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. (1 Samuel 15:22–23)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
I will not make friends with a hot-tempered man or associate with one easily angered, lest I learn his ways and set a snare for my soul. (Proverbs 22:24–25)
I will not become conceited, provoking others and envying others. (Galatians 5:26)
Lord, I thank You that You weigh hearts and that all things will be revealed by the light of Christ. I pray that I would be obedient rather than stubborn or rebellious, and I ask that I would not be hot-tempered or conceited.
