Daily Prayer: Day 343

From Simple Prayers, Day 343

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

I will not forget the God of my salvation;
I will remember the Rock of my refuge. (Isaiah 17:10)

O Lord, You are my God;
I will exalt You and praise Your name,
For You have done wonderful things,
Things planned long ago in perfect faithfulness. (Isaiah 25:1)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I know, O Lord, that a man’s way is not his own; it is not in a man who walks to direct his steps. (Jeremiah 10:23)

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I do not want to be like those rocky places on whom seed was thrown, who hear the word and at once receive it with joy, but since they have no root, last only a short time; when affliction or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Nor do I want to be like those among the thorns on whom seed was sown, who hear the word, but the worries of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and pleasures, and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it immature and unfruitful.  Instead, I want to be like the good soil on whom seed was sown, who with a noble and good heart hear the word, understand and accept it, and with perseverance bear fruit, yielding thirty, sixty, or a hundred times what was sown. (Matthew 13:20–23; Mark 4:16–20; Luke 8:13–15)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Poverty and shame will come to him who refuses instruction, but whoever heeds correction will be honored. (Proverbs 13:18)

He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just; both of them are detestable to the Lord. (Proverbs 17:15)

Lord, I thank You that You direct my steps and that You have removed my blindness so that I can see the light of Christ. I pray that Your word in me would bear fruit and not be choked by the distractions of this world, and I ask that I would listen to correction and practice sound judgment.
