Daily Prayer: Day 345

From Simple Prayers, Day 345

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

I have blotted out your transgressions like a thick cloud,
And your sins like the morning mist.
Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. (Isaiah 44:22)

I will sing praises to the Lord
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
For His anger lasts only a moment,
But His favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:4–5)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Lovingkindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. (Psalm 85:10–11)

The Lord prayed, “I glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do. And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world began.” (John 17:4–5)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I must do the work of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin. (Proverbs 21:4)

The proud looks of man will be humbled, and the loftiness of men brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted. (Isaiah 2:11)

Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:31)

Lord, I thank You for Your lovingkindness and truth and for the complete and perfect work that Jesus accomplished in His earthly ministry. I pray that I would accomplish the work you have sent me to do, and I ask that I would avoid the folly of pride and arrogance.
