Daily Prayer: Day 351

From Simple Prayers, Day 351

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.

The Lord made the earth by His power;
He established the world by His wisdom
And stretched out the heavens by His understanding. (Jeremiah 10:12; 51:15)

The Lord gives the sun for light by day,
And decrees the moon and stars for light by night;
He stirs up the sea so that its waves roar;
The Lord of hosts is His name. (Jeremiah 31:35)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

O Lord of hosts, You judge righteously and test the heart and mind; to You I have committed my cause. (Jeremiah 11:20)

The Lord of hosts has planned it, to bring low the pride of all glory and to humble all who are renowned on the earth. (Isaiah 23:9)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I will watch in hope for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not boast about tomorrow, for I do not know what a day may bring forth. (Proverbs 27:1)

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the strong man boast of his strength, and let not the rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23–24)

Lord, I thank You that I can commit my cause to You and that You bring Your justice to the earth. I pray that I would fix my hope and confidence in You, and I ask that I would not be proud or presumptuous, but boast only in the knowledge of You.
