Daily Prayer: Day 355

From Simple Prayers, Day 355

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

I was called to freedom, but may I not use my freedom to indulge the flesh, but through love let me serve others. For the whole law is summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:13–14)

For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of His Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you in my prayers. (Romans 1:9)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

The Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God. (1 John 4:14–15)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Like Abraham, I am looking for a city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. (Hebrews 11:10)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. It was good for me to be afflicted, so that I might learn Your statutes. (Psalm 119:67, 71)

I will submit myself to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from me. I will humble myself before the Lord, and He will exalt me. (James 4:7, 10)

Lord, I thank You for Your patience and for Your desire that people would find life by confessing that Jesus is Your Son. I thank You for the city that You are preparing for Your children, and I ask that my afflictions would drive me to You and that I would submit myself to You and resist the devil.
