From Simple Prayers, Day 359
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.
Lord, You are in Your holy temple;
You on Your heavenly throne.
You observe the children of men;
Your eyes examine them. (Psalm 11:4)
If I say that I have fellowship with Christ and yet walk in the darkness, I lie and do not practice the truth. But if I walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son purifies me from all sin. (1 John 1:6–7)
Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
I will be still and know that You are God; You will be exalted among the nations, You will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10)
You will magnify Yourself and sanctify Yourself, and You will make Yourself known in the sight of many nations, and they will know that You are the Lord. (Ezekiel 38:23)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
I know that my old self was crucified with Christ, so that the body of sin might be done away with, that I should no longer be a slave to sin; for the one who has died has been freed from sin. (Romans 6:6–7)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
If we have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, we should also be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and one in purpose. (Philippians 2:1–2)
Just as the body is one, but has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12)
Lord, I thank You that You will be exalted in all the earth and that all people will know that You are the Lord. I thank You that because I was crucified with Christ, I am no longer a slave to sin, and I ask that I would seek unity of spirit with other believers as a member of the same body.
