Daily Prayer: Day 60

From Simple Prayers, Day 60

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me and keep me from evil, so it may not grieve me. (1 Chronicles 4:10)

Please regard Your servant’s prayer and his supplication, O Lord my God. Listen to the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying before You this day. (1 Kings 8:28)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to the Son of God. (Matthew 28:18)

While Jesus was eating His last Passover meal with His disciples, He took bread, blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, “Take it; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.” (Mark 14:22–24)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

My citizenship is in heaven, from which I also eagerly await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform my lowly body and conform it to His glorious body, according to the exertion of His ability to subject all things to Himself. (Philippians 3:20–21)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but he who is slow to anger calms a quarrel. (Proverbs 15:18)

I will not mistreat my neighbor, but I will fear my God; for You are the Lord my God. (Leviticus 25:17)

Lord, I thank You that Christ has been given all authority and that His body and blood purchased my salvation. I thank You for my heavenly citizenship, and I ask that I would treat You with awe and respect, and that I would be slow to anger.
