Daily Prayer: Day 72

From Simple Prayers

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Woe to me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I live among a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts. (Isaiah 6:5)

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
Save me, and I will be saved,
For You are my praise. (Jeremiah 17:14)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

No one has ever seen God, but the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, has made Him known. (John 1:18)

The Lord covers Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent curtain and lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters. He makes the clouds His chariot and walks on the wings of the wind. He makes the winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants. He set the earth on its foundations, so that it can never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At Your rebuke the waters fled; at the sound of Your thunder they hurried away. They flowed over the mountains and went down into the valleys to the place You assigned for them. You set a boundary they cannot cross, that they will not return to cover the earth. O Lord, how manifold are Your works!  In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions. (Psalm 104:2–9, 24)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

My mouth will tell of Your righteousness and of Your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure. I will come in the strength of the Lord God; I will proclaim Your righteousness, Yours alone. Since my youth, O God, You have taught me, and to this day I declare Your wondrous deeds. (Psalm 71:15–17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will honor my father and my mother. (Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16)

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who begets a wise son will be glad in him. May my father and mother be glad; may she who gave me birth rejoice. (Proverbs 23:24–25)

Lord, I thank You for Your manifold wisdom and works and for the way Your Son has made You known. I thank You for Your righteousness and wonderful deeds, and I ask for the quality of life that would honor my parents.
