Daily Prayer: Day 76

From Simple Prayers

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

My Father knows what I need before I ask Him. (Matthew 6:8)

I will not lay up for myself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But I will lay up for myself treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where my treasure is, there my heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19–21; Luke 12:34)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord reigns; He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. Indeed, the world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. Your testimonies stand firm; holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever. (Psalm 93:1–2, 5)

Jesus fulfilled the words of the prophet Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are downtrodden, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18–19)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Whoever hears the word of Jesus and believes Him who sent Him has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed over from death to life. (John 5:24)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will train up each child according to his way; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; he will bring delight to your soul. (Proverbs 29:17)

Lord, I thank You that You are clothed with majesty and that Jesus came to set us free. I thank You for Your gift of eternal life through faith in Christ, and I ask that I would instruct others in the way of righteousness and truth.
