From Simple Prayers, Day 96

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

God be gracious to us and bless us,
And make His face shine upon us;
That Your way may be known on earth,
Your salvation among all nations. (Psalm 67:1–2)

Help me, O God of my salvation, for the glory of Your name;
Deliver me and forgive my sins for Your name’s sake. (Psalm 79:9)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the counsel of the Lord that will stand. (Proverbs 19:21)

The Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the summits of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep under His care. (Psalm 95:3–5, 7)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Glory in the holy name of the Lord; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. Remember the wonderful works He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced. (1 Chronicles 16:10–12)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)

You have called me to go and proclaim the kingdom of God. (Luke 9:60)

Lord, I thank You that Your counsel will stand and that Your dominion extends to the ends of the earth. I thank You for Your wonderful works, and I ask for the power to proclaim Your kingdom.
