Daily Prayer: Day 97

From Simple Prayers, Day 97

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

Glory in the holy name of the Lord;
Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face always.
Remember the wonderful works He has done,
His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced. (1 Chronicles 16:10–12)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Whatever the Lord pleases He does, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. (Psalm 135:6)

God is the maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades, and the constellations of the south. He does great things that cannot be fathomed and wonderful works that cannot be counted. (Job 9:9–10)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I will sing of Your strength, yes, I will sing of Your mercy in the morning, for You have been my stronghold, my refuge in times of trouble. To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises, for God is my fortress, my loving God. (Psalm 59:16–17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28)

Lord, I thank You that You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth. I thank You for Your mercy and faithfulness, and I ask that I would recognize the brevity of my earthly sojourn and live in wisdom.
