Running with Endurance
(Petition)
As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.
May I lay aside every impediment and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with endurance the race that is set before me, fixing my eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. May I consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners so that I will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1–3)
Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.
I will not set my heart on evil things, or be an idolater, or commit sexual immorality. (1 Corinthians 10:6–8)
I will consider the members of my earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. (Colossians 3:5)
Lord, I thank You for Your lovingkindness and truth and for Christ’s willingness to humble Himself on behalf of others. I thank You for seating me at Your right hand in Christ, and I ask that I would not set my heart on sinful desires.
