Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 13

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Applying God’s Word
(Affirmation)

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth but also express it in the way I live.

Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength;
We will sing and praise Your power. (Psalm 21:13)

Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;
Be their shepherd and carry them forever. (Psalm 28:9)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture, and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

I will not wear myself out to get rich; I will have the understanding to cease. I will not set my desire on what flies away, for wealth surely sprouts wings and flies into the heavens like an eagle. (Proverbs 23:4–5)

He who oppresses the poor reproaches their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him. (Proverbs 14:31)

Lord, I praise You for Your glory and faithfulness and thank You for Christ’s body and blood. I thank You that You want me to apply Your Word in my life. Please keep me from greed and give me a generous heart.
