Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 15

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Resting in the Shadow of the Almighty
(Adoration)

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love; and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

How great are Your works, O Lord!
Your thoughts are very deep.
The senseless man does not know;
Fools do not understand
But You, O Lord, are exalted forever. (Psalm 92:5–6, 8)

You are the Lord, that is Your name.
You will not give Your glory to another,
Or Your praise to idols. (Isaiah 42:8)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty, and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress.” (Psalm 91:1–2)

Christ has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for man to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. (Hebrews 9:26–28)

Lord, I praise You for Your great lovingkindness, Your righteousness, Your faithfulness, and Your justice. I give thanks for the newness of life that has been made available through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus. May I rest in the shelter of Your salvation.
