Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 16

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Loving Others
(Confession)

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

When I sin against the Lord, I may be sure that my sin will find me out. (Numbers 32:23)

Come, let us return to the Lord.
For He has torn us, but He will heal us;
He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds. (Hosea 6:1)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord, and thank Him for His forgiveness.

I do not dare to classify or compare myself with other people, for it is unwise to measure or compare myself with others. I will not boast beyond proper limits but within the sphere of the gospel of Christ. “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 10:12–14, 17)

I will not hate my brother in my heart. (Leviticus 19:17)

Lord, I praise You for Your authority over the nations and for the righteous judgment that You will bring to the world. I thank You that You have placed my life in Christ. I ask that I would love others and boast only in Him.
