From A Simple Book of Prayers
Delighting in the Word
(Intercession)
Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others; and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.
All of us have become like one who is unclean,
And all our righteous acts are like filthy rags. . . .
But now, O Lord, You are our Father.
We are the clay; You are the potter;
We are all the work of Your hand. (Isaiah 64:6, 8)
Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of scorners. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. . . . and whatever he does will prosper. (Psalm 1:1–3)
I will contribute to the needs of the saints and practice hospitality. (Romans 12:13)
Lord, I praise You that Your judgments are true and righteous. You give life to all things. I thank You for the hope of the resurrection. May I delight in Your Word and serve the needs of others.
