Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 2

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Dwelling on God’s Hill
(Confession)

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?
Who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol
Or sworn by what is false. (Psalm 24:3–4)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord, and thank Him for His forgiveness.

The Lord Jesus Christ received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, who said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (2 Peter 1:17)

In Your unfailing love You have led the people You have redeemed. In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy dwelling. You brought them in and planted them in the mountain of Your inheritance. (Exodus 15:13, 17)

Lord, I thank You that You have become my dwelling place, my Redeemer, and my inheritance. I give thanks that Jesus, Your beloved Son, is exalted above all.
