Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 21

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Praying for the Harvest
(Thanksgiving)

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

I will give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name,
And make known to others what He has done. (1 Chronicles 16:8)

I know that the Lord has set apart the godly for Himself;
The Lord hears when I call to Him. (Psalm 4:3)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, I will pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers into His harvest. (Matthew 9:37–38; Luke 10:2)

Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are white for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (John 4:35–36)

Lord, I praise You that You reign over all things and thank You that Christ is preparing us for union with Him. I thank You that You give grace and glory, and I ask that I would be privileged to participate in Your harvest.
