Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 28

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Fulfilling the Law of Love
(Thanksgiving)

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

I will give thanks to the Lord according to His righteousness. (Psalm 7:17)

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

I am not trying to win the approval of men, but of God. If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)

I will owe nothing to anyone except to love them, for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. . . . If there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 13:8–10)

Lord, I thank You for reviving the spirit of the lowly and for raising Your Son from the dead. I thank You for bearing my burdens, and I ask that I would seek to serve Christ by loving others.
