Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 34

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Ordering My Steps for Justice
(Affirmation)

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth but also express it in the way I live.

When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You through the watches of the night.
Because You have been my help,
I will rejoice in the shadow of Your wings.
My soul clings to You;
Your right hand upholds me. (Psalm 63:6–8)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture, and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

These are the things I shall do: speak the truth to others, judge with truth and justice for peace, not plot evil against my neighbor, and not love a false oath; for all these things the Lord hates. (Zechariah 8:16–17)

I will remember those who led me, who spoke the word of God to me. I will consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. (Hebrews 13:7)

Lord, I thank You that nothing is too difficult for You and that Christ will return to raise us from the dead. I ask that I would abide in Christ, and that I would order my steps in righteousness and service to others.
