Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 37

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Offering the Sacrifice of Praise
(Confession)

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

I confess my iniquity;
I am troubled by my sin.
O Lord, do not forsake me;
O my God, be not far from me!
Make haste to help me,
O Lord, my salvation. (Psalm 38:18, 21–22)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord, and thank Him for His forgiveness.

The Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth! God is the King of all the earth, and I will sing His praise. (Psalm 47:2, 7)

As living stones, we are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. (1 Peter 2:5, 9)

Lord, I praise You for Your sovereign rule, and I anticipate the day when all beings will acknowledge Your majesty and authority. I thank You that You have called me to know and serve You.
