Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 7

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Ordering My Steps
(Thanksgiving)

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

I will sing to the Lord and give praise to the Lord,
For He has rescued the life of the needy
From the hands of evildoers. (Jeremiah 20:13)

The Lord is good,
A refuge in times of trouble;
He knows those who trust in Him. (Nahum 1:7)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

I will obey those who are in authority over me with fear and trembling and with sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with external service as a pleaser of men but as a slave of Christ, doing the will of God from my heart. With good will I will serve as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that I will receive back from the Lord whatever good I do. (Ephesians 6:5–8)

Lord, I praise You for the glory of the incarnate Word and for Your incomparable grandeur. I thank You for the transforming power of Your truth. May I order my steps in humility and in gentleness.
