Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 59

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

I will give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His lovingkindness endures forever. (Psalm 118:1)

Your testimonies, which You have commanded, are righteous and trustworthy. Your righteousness is everlasting, and Your law is truth. (Psalm 119:138, 142)

The Works of God

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

Jesus as our high priest meets our needs: He is holy, blameless, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people, for He did this once for all when He offered up Himself. (Hebrews 7:2627)

My Relationship to God

The Father has qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. For He has rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:1214)

I was not redeemed with perishable things such as silver or gold from the aimless way of life handed down to me from my forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish or defect. (1 Peter 1:1819)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will submit myself to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from me. I will humble myself before the Lord, and He will exalt me. (James 4:7, 10)

I will humble myself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt me in due time, casting all my anxiety upon Him, because He cares for me. (1 Peter 5:67)

My Relationship to Others

Wives should submit to their husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. (Colossians 3:18)

Husbands should love their wives and not be bitter toward them. (Colossians 3:19)
