Identity Affirmations 6

In uncertain times, does the idea of death haunt you?

Those of us who are in Christ Jesus, made complete in Him, need to realize that our citizenship is in heaven. Death should not be a source of fear for us because we have been raised up with Christ. There is a present component to this, for we have been buried with Him in baptism and raised up with Him in faith. But the full realization of being with Him is yet to come.

Death, then, will be the moment when we enter into the presence of God, who has chosen us and loved us. After all, our life is hidden with Christ in God, and we are heirs with Him.

This is our hope, not anything in this world. This temporal age will pass, but we have an inheritance stored for us forever. It is imperishable, undefiled, and kept in heaven for us (1 Peter 1:4). Let us, then, eagerly wait for the glory still to come when we enter into eternity.
