Is there any evidence for the end times? Are we living in the end times now? While no one knows the day nor the hour of Christ’s coming, Jesus tells His disciples to be on alert and warns them of the signs of the end times.
Text: Revelation 6–7 Whereas chapter five of Revelation gives us a picture of the heavenly throne room of God and of the vesting of authority to the Son to be the executor of judgment, chapter six reveals that judgment taking place as the Lamb breaks the seven seals.

When will Christ return? Although the false teachers of Peter’s day thought that His delay meant He would not come back, Peter reminds his readers that God’s timing is not our own.
Just as the flood came without warning, so Jesus will return like a thief in the night (2 Peter 3:10). Therefore, we must be ready at any moment, not presuming upon God’s patience, but living in light of our eternal home He is preparing for us.
How do we recognize false teachers? Many of them are in our own churches, and they seem to be a part of the body of Christ. But there are distinguishing factors, and Peter discusses those marks in chapter 2 of his epistle.
There is a huge difference between the fate of the false teachers and the fate of the righteous. While He brings judgment on the false teachers, God has given His children an undefiled and unfading inheritance.
The apparent delay of Christ’s return is due to His patience with sinful humanity. He desires more and more people to come to a saving knowledge of Christ before He comes in judgment. Therefore, Peter exhorts us to live each day in light of that coming Day and to grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In Matthew 25, the Olivet Discourse continues with two parables illustrating the judgment of Israel and an emphasis on the need to be on the alert for the second coming of Christ.
