365 Key Chapters of the Bible: John 6

One of the central issues addressed in the Gospel of John is the identity of Jesus. In John 6, Jesus feeds 5,000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. He then gives the first of seven I AM statements: “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35). This miracle of feeding the multitude demonstrates Jesus’ superiority to Moses. Moses gave the Israelites manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But Jesus gives more than just physical bread. As the bread of life, He offers true spiritual food that leads to eternal life.

This session is part 54 of the 365 Key Chapters of the Bible series, based on Ken’s Handbook to Scripture.
