Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 42

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Rejoicing in His Life
(Thanksgiving)

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forever.
For great is Your love toward me,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of the grave. (Psalm 86:12–13)

Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. (Psalm 97:12)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? . . . If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the furthest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me; Your right hand will lay hold of me. (Psalm 139:7–10)

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. (John 3:17)

Lord, I thank You that You are ever-present in my life. Nothing can separate me from Your love. I thank You for the highest expression of this love: the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
