Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 48

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Abounding in Grace
(Affirmation)

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth but also express it in the way I live.

Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:9–10)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture, and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

The word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow; and it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12–13)

The law was added that the transgression might increase. But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5:20–21)

Lord, I thank You for Your penetrating and profound Word that illuminates my path and directs me in the truth. May I respond to Your gracious initiatives and walk in the way of eternal life.
