Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 59

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Fighting the Good Fight
(Renewal)

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

Christ must increase; I must decrease. (John 3:30)

You are the true vine, and Your Father is the vinedresser. May I abide in You, and You in me. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can I, unless I abide in You. (John 15:1, 4)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord, and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

I will fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of the eternal life to which I was called when I made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12)

I will not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but blessing instead, because to this I was called, that I may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)

Lord, I praise. You alone are God and I rejoice that the resurrected Christ is the firstfruits of those who will be raised from the dead. I thank You for the inheritance You have given to me, and I ask that I would remain faithful in the good fight of faith.
