Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 61

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Learning to Do Good
(Intercession)

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others; and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

May I help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)

May I learn to do good,
Seek justice,
Remove the oppressor,
Defend the orphan,
And plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:17)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1)

May those who hope in You not be ashamed because of me, O Lord God of hosts; may those who seek You not be dishonored because of me, O God of Israel. (Psalm 69:6)

Lord, I praise You for Your majestic holiness and for Jesus, the good Shepherd. I thank You that I am a new creation in Christ, and I ask that people would honor You because of the way I live.
