From A Simple Book of Prayers

Lifting Up His Name
(Confession)

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years,
In our time make them known;
In wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2)

If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared. (Psalm 130:3-4)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord, and thank Him for His forgiveness.

The heavens will praise Your wonders, O Lord, Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the heavens can be compared with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the sons of the mighty? (Psalm 89:5–6)

From the rising to the setting of the sun, Your name will be great among the nations. (Malachi 1:11)

Lord, I praise You for Your matchless mercies and for Your loyal love. You are high and exalted above all. There is no one like You. You are the awesome God of faithfulness and love. May your name be great in my heart.
