Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 70

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Living in Anticipation
(Thanksgiving)

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your name is near. (Psalm 75:1)

Truth shall spring forth from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven. (Psalm 85:11)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

I will give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His lovingkindness endures forever. I will give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful acts to the children of men, for He satisfies the thirsty soul and fills the hungry soul with good things. (Psalm 107:1, 8–9)

When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His glorious throne. . . . Then the King will say to those on His right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:31–34)

Lord, Your promises are sure, Your love is unceasing, and Your kindness is boundless. May I live in holy anticipation of the coming of the Lord Jesus and His glorious kingdom.
