Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 71

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Ascribing Glory to God
(Adoration)

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love; and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

The Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and joy are in His place.
I will ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
I will ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name
And worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
The world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
(1 Chronicles 16:25–30)

You are the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac. (Genesis 31:42)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty, and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

Teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28)

Lord, You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth. I thank You for Your mercy and faithfulness. May I recognize the brevity of my earthly sojourn and live in wisdom.
