From A Simple Book of Prayers
Listening to Wisdom
(Affirmation)
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth but also express it in the way I live.
You are worthy, our Lord and God,
To receive glory and honor and power,
For You created all things,
And by Your will they were created and have their being. (Revelation 4:11)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture, and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
Blessed is the man who listens to wisdom, watching daily at her gates, waiting at her doorposts. For whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. (Proverbs 8:34–35)
I will receive the words of wisdom and treasure her commands within me. . . . If I cry for discernment and lift up my voice for understanding, if I seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, then I will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:1–5)
Lord, I praise You for Your sovereign majesty and for the heavens that proclaim the work of Your hands. I ask that I would rejoice and be thankful in all things and that I would listen to wisdom and apply my heart to understanding.
