Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 88

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Understanding His Will

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

May I discipline myself to godliness. For physical exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:7–8)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

If I lack wisdom, I should ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to me. (James 1:5)

I will watch carefully how I walk, not as the unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. I will not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:15–17)

Lord, I thank You that You are my strength and my song and that in Christ Jesus, You have given me a new heart. I thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit, and I ask that You guide my steps according to Your wisdom.
