Daily Prayer: Year 1, Day 90

From A Simple Book of Prayers

Silencing the Ignorant
(Affirmation)

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth but also express it in the way I live.

Every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea and all that is in them, will sing:
“To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
Be blessing and honor and glory and power
For ever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture, and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good. (Proverbs 19:8)

I will submit myself for the Lord’s sake to every human authority, whether to a king as being supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish evildoers and to praise those who do right; for it is the will of God that by doing good I may silence the ignorance of foolish people. (1 Peter 2:13–15)

Lord, I praise You for Your universal kingdom and for Your sovereignty over nature. I thank You for Jesus, the Savior of my soul, and I ask that I would have the wisdom to acknowledge Your designated spheres of authority.
