Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 21

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? (2 Samuel 22:3132)

The Lord longs to be gracious and rises to show compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him! (Isaiah 30:18)

The Works of God

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. (Psalm 19:12)

The Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the summits of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep under His care. (Psalm 95:35, 7)

My Relationship to God

You have loved me with an everlasting love; You have drawn me with lovingkindness. (Jeremiah 31:3)

Who shall separate me from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” Yet in all these things I am are more than a conqueror through Him who loved me. (Romans 8:3537)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I am not trying to win the approval of men, but of God. If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)

Since I have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, I speak not as pleasing men but God, who tests my heart. I will not seek glory from men. (1 Thessalonians 2:4, 6)

My Relationship to Others

You have called me to go and proclaim the kingdom of God. (Luke 9:60)

Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)
