Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 23

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Will God indeed dwell on earth? Heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You. (1 Kings 8:27)

God sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He reduces rulers to nothing and makes the judges of this world meaningless. (Isaiah 40:2223)

The Works of God

You will magnify Yourself and sanctify Yourself, and You will make Yourself known in the sight of many nations, and they will know that You are the Lord. (Ezekiel 38:23)

The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. (Habakkuk 2:14)

My Relationship to God

God is my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth changes and the mountains slip into the heart of the sea. (Psalm 46:12)

I will not fear, for You are with me; I will not be dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen me and help me; You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand. For You are the Lord my God, who takes hold of my right hand and says to me, “Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:10, 13)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (Proverbs 1:7)

The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and protecting the way of His saints. Then I will understand righteousness and justice and honesty—every good path. For wisdom will enter my heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to my soul. Discretion will protect me, and understanding will guard me. (Proverbs 2:611)

My Relationship to Others

When I give, it will be given to me; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be poured into my lap. For with the measure I use, it will be measured back to me. (Luke 6:38)

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to us, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, we may abound in every good work. As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase our seed and will increase the fruits of our righteousness. (2 Corinthians 9:610)
