Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 27

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

The Lord my God is the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands. (Deuteronomy 7:9)

I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: The Lord’s mercies never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:2123)

The Works of God

The Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to his works. (Matthew 16:27)

As the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. The sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:27, 30)

My Relationship to God

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust. I will not fear; what can mortal man do to me? (Psalm 56:34)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. He who refuses instruction despises himself, but he who heeds correction gains understanding. (Proverbs 15:3132)

A rebuke goes deeper into a wise man than a hundred lashes into a fool. (Proverbs 17:10)

My Relationship to Others

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant us to be of the same mind toward one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord and one mouth we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:56)

There should be no division in the body, but its members should have the same concern for each other. If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now we are the body of Christ, and each one of us is a member of it. (1 Corinthians 12:2527)
