Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 31

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. (Exodus 15:12)

My Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is Your name; You are the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 47:4)

The Works of God

I must be ready, for the Son of Man will come at an hour when I do not expect Him. (Matthew 24:44; Luke 12:40)

Men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens. We must take heed and be watchful, for we do not know when that time will come. (Mark 13:2627, 33)

My Relationship to God

Having been justified by faith, I have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom I have gained access by faith into this grace in which I stand; and I rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:12)

I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord. (Romans 8:3839)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life and loves many days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry. (Psalm 34:1115)

I was once darkness, but now I am light in the Lord. I will walk as a child of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), learning what is pleasing to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:810)

My Relationship to Others

I will not defraud my neighbor or rob him. (Leviticus 19:13)

I will not mistreat my neighbor, but I will fear my God; for You are the Lord my God. (Leviticus 25:17)
