From Handbook to Renewal
The Attributes of God
The Lord of hosts has sworn, “Surely, as I have thought, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand. For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who can annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? (Isaiah 14:24, 27)
You are the Lord, and there is no savior besides You. From ancient days You are He, and no one can deliver out of Your hand; You act, and who can reverse it? (Isaiah 43:11, 13)
The Works of God
God gives life to the dead and calls into being things that do not exist. (Romans 4:17)
The whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name from the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 3:14–15)
My Relationship to God
I do not lose heart; even though my outward man is perishing, yet my inner man is being renewed day by day. For this light affliction which is momentary is working for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while I do not look at the things which are seen but at the things which are unseen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are unseen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16–18)
My citizenship is in heaven, from which I also eagerly await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform my lowly body and conform it to His glorious body, according to the exertion of His ability to subject all things to Himself. (Philippians 3:20–21)
The Character I Want to Cultivate
I will be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I will let my requests be known to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6–7)
I will let the peace of Christ rule in my heart, to which I was called as a member of one body, and I will be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)
My Relationship to Others
I will give to all what they are due: taxes to whom taxes are due, custom to whom custom, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor. (Romans 13:7)
I will honor all people, love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, and honor the king. (1 Peter 2:17)
