Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 48

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world. (John 11:27)

Anyone who has seen Jesus has seen the Father. (John 14:9)

The Works of God

Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father; to Him be glory and power for ever and ever. (Revelation 1:56)

You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:910)

My Relationship to God

You are the door; whoever enters through You will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; You have come that we may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:910)

Your sheep hear Your voice, and You know them, and they follow You. You give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of Your hand. The Father, who has given them to You, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand. (John 10:2729)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith, so that there will be laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. (2 Timothy 4:78)

Since I have a great cloud of witnesses surrounding me, I want to lay aside every impediment and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with endurance the race that is set before me, fixing my eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. I will consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that I will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:13)

My Relationship to Others

We should always pray for other believers, that our God may count them worthy of His calling and fulfill every desire for goodness and every work of faith with power. (2 Thessalonians 1:11)

We should ask that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in others, and they in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:12)
